Weekday getaway at Montigo Resorts, Nongsa

12:48 AM

Sometime last month, after our trip to Sri Lanka, we took some time aside during the weekdays to Montigo Resorts for a relaxing getaway since H still had a few more free days! I've actually visited Montigo Resorts, Seminyak before sometime in 2016 when it first opened (link here) but this time, I finally managed to set aside some time to visit Montigo Resorts, Nongsa, which is a resort that I'm sure most Singaporeans have heard of/are familiar with!

The resort is located just a 45 minutes ferry ride from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal and Montigo Resorts actually have a counter set up right outside the arrival hall of Nongsa Ferry Terminal to pick you up! (Do make sure to inform the resort beforehand if you need a pickup prior to arrival) The resort is just a short 5-10 minutes drive from the ferry terminal, and there you go to kickstart your holiday!

We checked into their 2-bedroom villa, which is a hot favourite seeing that it is always sold out during the weekends!

If you have been wanting to have a getaway at Montigo Resorts, Nongsa but haven't had the best of luck at booking the villas during the weekends, maybe you can try visiting on a weekday instead because last I checked, they run attractive deals for weekday bookings (such as 50% off your second nights stay). We also received 300,000 IDR resort voucher to spend during our weekday stay which we spent it on a good 60 minutes massage at their spa!

Within the resort itself, they have 4 dining options (3 restaurants and 1 cafe), 2 pools, a gym, a spa, and also additional activities which you can book via the concierge if you're looking to get active during your stay there!

Pantai Restaurant

If you love your local zichar food, you'd love Pantai Restaurant because it serves up good, hearty local dishes, including seafood, and they are very decently priced. Would totally recommend getting an outdoor seating during sunset because the sunset view is amazing there!

We managed to try some of their signature dishes there and will recommend the Fire & Ice chicken - think your usual diced chicken but iced! It's a very interesting dish that's not easily available at our usual zichar stalls :)

TADD's Restaurant

A spacious restaurant serving almost all kinds of cuisine from Indonesian to Western, TADD's Restaurant is also where the resort guests have their breakfast. And before I talk about their ala carte menu, can I just commend that I love their breakfast selection soooo much??!!

They have a super wide spread of food selection for breakfast that even a picky eater like me started to feel spoilt for choice. You'll never go hungry here in Montigo Resorts, Nongsa... really. I think I gained weight after my 3D2N there because I had like 3 servings at the breakfast buffet daily -.- HAHAHA

Ala-carte menu wise, prices were very pocket friendly and the pasta I had was really good too! Like Singapore, Batam can be really warm in the afternoon so don't forget to cool down with some fresh coconut :)

Tiigo Beach Club

Tiigo is Montigo Resorts, Nongsa's on site beach club and this was where we spent our afternoon at. It's very quiet and chill during the weekdays (not too sure about the weekend but I'd expect more crowd). H went for a swim, I took a dip and spent most of the time just lazing in the cabana, staring into the beautiful sea-nery (hahah get it?) in front of me with a smoothie in hand.

The food options here was slightly more limited as compared to Pantai and TADD's, and also a little pricier than the other 2 restaurants, but it had the best atmosphere and ambience for sure! The drinks menu is extensive though, and I had a really hard time deciding which drink to get haha.

Don't you guys just agree that the best luxury in life is waking up in the morning with absolutely nothing to do and being able to just chill and do nothing? LOL Yup. That's why our stay at Montigo Resorts, Nongsa was a luxurious experience because not only did we receive impecaable service, we really managed to relax while we were there and wake up feeling refreshed and with a (literally) clear state of mind :P

Cafe Montigo

Their newest kid in the block is Cafe Montigo (which btw, they have one at Star Vista too!) and this is where you head to for your afternoon coffee and some sweets! It's also a good hideout from the heat because it's air conditioned hahaha.

Other dining options you may consider are in-villa dining (aka room service) and also private dining for functions!

Montigo Spa

There's no better way to unwind other than a good massage treatment. We decided to spend our 300,000 IDR weekday voucher here on a 60 minute massage. That makes it 700,000 IDR for our massage session and it's a very good price because the massage was really great + the ambience inside the spa is AMAZING.

One thing though, we visited the spa at night and received a few mosquito bites but other than that, everything was great in terms of service!:)

To conclude, we really enjoyed our 3D2N stay at Montigo Resorts, Nongsa very much and it's not surprising to know that they've been a hot favourite amongst Singaporeans even until now after being able to experience it for ourselves. It's THE vacation you need to get away from all the work, stress and city bustle and just unwind and recharge yourself!

Will definitely look forward to going back again some day for another getaway :)

Till then!

Love,
Xin Lin
